MSA

The Missouri Students Association (MSA) holds campus wide elections twice a year during the fall and spring semesters. The MSA presidential election takes place each March and senatorial elections take place each November and March. Find out more about MSA Elections on their website.

GPC

The Graduate Professional Council (GPC) is the official student government for all graduate, professional, and post-baccalaureate students at MU. GPC elects its leadership through their General Assembly each spring. Find out how to get involved here.

LBC

The Legion of Black Collegians (LBC) is the black student government on MU’s campus. Each spring they elect new positions after the candidates are nominated and complete an application. For more information about LBC and their election, visit their website.

Referendums

Occasionally, MSA and/or GPC holds special referendums on constitutional updates or student fees during the MSA elections.

Governance

All MSA/GPC elections and referendums are governed by the Board of Election Commissioners (BEC). Public rulings by the BEC and MSA Student Court can be found on their MU Engage page. All forms and governing documents can be found on MU Engage as well. Voting simply requires a pawprint and password.

Voting for both the Legion of Black Collegians’ Royalty Court and the Mizzou Alumni Association’s Homecoming Court royalty takes place each fall, usually in October. Information about both LBC’s Homecoming Week and the Mizzou Alumni Association’s Homecoming Week can be found on their websites.

National, State and local elections require registering to vote ahead of time to have your vote counted. The Associated Students of the University of Missouri (ASUM) provides students with information about upcoming elections, holds voter registration drives, and lobbies Jefferson City on behalf of all MU and UM System students.

Voting Resources
Notaries on Campus

There are currently no public notaries on campus for students due to staff turnover. While these positions are being replaces we recommend using the Daniel Boone Regional Library in downtown Columbia.

Mail your ballot for free

Students, faculty, and staff can mail their absentee or mail-in ballots for free from 1212A MU Student Center during any of these times:
Sunday 2pm – 8 pm
Monday -Thursday 7:30 am – 8 PM
Friday 7:30 am – 5 pm
