Online Materials and Tools

Use specific databases or Discover@MU to find online resources.  We have hundreds of databases that provide access to journal articles, e-books, video, and more!

Instructors:  Please communicate with your subject librarian if you need online resources to support your teaching.  We are making some funds available for e-books and streaming media (i.e. films) to support specific instructional needs this spring.

Many publishers and content providers have opened some of their resources to assist universities with moving classes to online only. This includes access to e-textbooks, databases, articles/journals, and videos. Please visit our guide to see the full list of resources available through complimentary access.

See our Off-campus Access Guide for help accessing online resources.

Instructional Resources

Our subject librarians remain available to deliver instruction on information literacy concepts and research practices through the hosting of of group instruction sessions via Zoom and the scheduling of individual research consultations through MU Connect. Librarians will also work with faculty to ensure that course materials are made available through our e-reserves system.

All faculty are welcome to use the videos, tutorials, modules, and other materials linked on our Instructional Resources page. If you do not find the types of instructional materials you’d like to use for your course, or if you have an idea you’d like to share, please use the request button on the Instructional Resources page and complete the form.

A variety of open educational resources, digital educational tools and online research assignments are available to you at MERLOT, OER Commons, and CORA.

Please communicate with your subject librarian if you need subscription online resources to support your teaching.  Some publishers are offering temporary access to resources that we would not normally be able to acquire.  We are also making some funds available for e-books and streaming media (i.e. films) to support specific instructional needs this spring.
